OREM  -  The Owlz hopes of a three-game winning streak were dashed by the Idaho Falls Chukars, as they fell 11-8 on Sunday afternoon at the Home of the Owlz.
The Chukars got off to a quick start, scoring four runs in the first inning off of starting pitcher Jerryell Rivera. The Owlz trailed by six after a two run homer off the bat of Nick Hutchins.

Rion Murrah came in from the Owlz bullpen to relieve Rivera in the third inning. The Chukars kept surging after Murrah came in, going for three more runs.
With the bases loaded in the third inning Idaho Falls' pitcher Connor Mayes walked Tim Millard. This gave the Owlz their first run of the game. Orem went on to get one more one in the bottom of the third, narrowing the gap a little bit to trail 9-2 to end the bottom of the third.
The Chukars kept the momentum going into the fourth inning, going for two more runs to lead 11-2 to end the top of the fourth. The Owlz came right back to get two runs of their own in the fourth. One of the runs came off the bat of right field newcomer Cam Williams. Williams rejoined the Owlz for Sunday's game after spending time with the Owlz last season.
The Owlz brought in Tyler Smith to pitch the fifth inning. For the first time of the night, the Owlz allowed no runs in the inning. In the top of the fifth, Francisco Del Valle, hit a triple. Del Valle went on to give the Owlz their fifth run of the game narrowing the score to 11-5 in favor of the Chukars. Del Valle is on a nine-game hitting streak.
Anfernee Benitez came in to pitch the final three innings and replace Smith. Smith helped slow down the Chukars in his two innings allowing two hits and no runs.
Benitez kept the no run streak going. He got help from second baseman Cole Taylor. Taylor had an amazing play in the seventh inning. He managed to grab the ball right before it went it to the outfield, he then spun around and threw it to first base to give the Chukars their third out of the seventh inning.
In the bottom of the eighth inning Rayneldy Rosario hit a bomb deep down right field for a two run homer; the first homer of his career. The Owlz trailed by four going into the ninth.
With a full count and the bases loaded, Cam Williams drew a walk, to bring the lead to 11-8 in the final inning. The Chukars brought in another relief pitcher after the walk. With another full count and the bases loaded, the Chukars managed to strike out the Owlz and close out the game in 11-8 win over the Owlz.
