PaddleHeads Pen New Pitcher, Bring Roster to 25 

Wednesday, the Missoula PaddleHeads announced the free agent signing of RHP Matt Vonderschmidt. The move bolsters the 3-0 PaddleHeads pitching staff which leads the Pioneer League with 37 strikeouts and 4 earned runs through the first three contests of the 2021 campaign.

Matt Vonderschmidt | RHP | 6-0, 190lb

Native of Suwanee, Georgia, Vonderschmidt played his collegiate ball for the Piedmont Lions. Proving to be a force in the USA South Athletic Conference, the hurler made 86 appearances out of the bullpen with 111 strikeouts during his career with the Lions. Saving the best for last, Vonderschmidt posted a senior campaign in 2019 where he led the USA South with 9 saves, produced a team best 1.16 ERA, and was named All-USA South First Team, ABCA/Rawlings All-South Region First Team, and was named to the USA South All-Academic Team.
