After going hitless in his first three at-bats, Cordero clubbed the first of his two long balls off Aces starter and D-backs No. 24 prospectFrank Duncan in the seventh. The two-run shot to left-center field helped the Chihuahuas open a 6-3 lead after they entered the frame tied.

Two innings later, Cordero struck for a three-run blast to left off left-handed reliever Brian Matusz. The 22-year-old outfielder took a ball and a strike from the Major League veteran before muscling the next offering to the opposite field for his fourth homer of the season.
Through nine games this year, Cordero is hitting .222 while getting on base at a .243 clip. However, the 2011 international signee out of the Dominican Republic ranks second in the Pacific Coast League in homers, one behind second-ranked Cubs prospectIan Happ. He's also tied for sixth with eight RBIs.

Jose Pirela also had a big night for El Paso, going 4-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored and falling a triple shy of the cycle.
