Palm Beach wins sixth straight in midst of playoff race

Palm Beach jumped our to an early lead and never looked back in a 5-1 victory over Daytona.
Johan Mieses got the Cardinals on the board in the first with an RBI single. 
Chase Pinder hit an RBI double in the second to bring home Kramer Robertson, Palm Beach's second run of the night.
In the third, Palm Beach jumped out to a 4-0 lead after Taylor Bryant hit his first home run of the season, a two-run shot.
Austin Sexton, in his 12th appeareance but first start of the season, did everything asked of him. The 23-year-old went three scoreless innings and allowed just one hit while striking out four.
John Kilichowski came on in relief and threw three scoreless innings of his own and also allowed just a single hit. 
Robbie Gordon was caught in a no outs, bases loaded jam in the eighth, but Daytona was only able score its lone run of the night.
Palm Beach added another run in its half of the eigth inning.
Jason Zgardowski threw the final 1 2/3 innings for the Cardinals and earned his second save of the season.
In the playoff race, with nine games remaining, Palm Beach is tied with Jupiter for the lead in the Florida State League South Division.
