Manchester, N.H. - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays Double-A affiliate) scored double-digit runs for the second night in a row in an 11-6 win over the Portland Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox) on Wednesday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
he Fisher Cats scored five times in the bottom of the third inning to take an early lead. Andrew Guillotte and Ryan Hissey started the frame with singles and Jon Berti doubled in the first run. After Jonathan Davis was hit by a pitch, Bo Bichette delivered an RBI single for a 2-0 lead. Harold Ramirez added a two-run single and another run scored on a groundout by Juan Kelly.
Portland scored in the top of the fourth inning as the Sea Dogs loaded the bases on singles against New Hampshire starter Thomas Pannone. Johnny Bladel, who had singled, scored on a groundout.
New Hampshire added a run with two outs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Jon Berti doubled and scored on a single by Davis to make it 6-1.
Portland cut the lead to 6-5 in the top of the fifth inning, with all four runs coming across with two outs. Tate Matheny and Austin Rei delivered run scoring singles ahead of a two-run triple by Nick Lovullo.
The Fisher Cats responded with a quick four in the bottom of the fifth inning. Cavan Biggio singled and Harold Ramirez doubled in the first run. After Kelly singled, Connor Panas hit a three-run homer to right field to make it 10-5.
Ramirez led the offense with a 3-for-4 night, driving in three runs and scoring once. Berti, Kelly and Hissey each added two hits.
Portland scored in a third consecutive inning in the top of the sixth. Danny Mars reached on a fielders choice, Jantzen Witte singled him to third and he scored on a single by Bladel. Ryan Hissey took big league rehabber Tyler Thornburg deep in the eighth inning to cap the scoring at 11-6.
Pannone's first start of the season for the Fisher Cats lasted four innings. He allowed five hits, walked one and struck out five. Matt Kent took the loss for the Sea Dogs.
