Pat Reilly's Scoreless Start Supports Baysox Win over Senators Friday

Bowie, MD (August 7, 2026) – The Chesapeake Baysox, the Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, relied on clutch pitching to down the Harrisburg Senators, the Double-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, in a 5-2 final Friday.
Led by right-handed starter Pat Reilly, Chesapeake (21-16, 50-55) pitching worked out of a handful of jams and forced Harrisburg to strand 13 runners on base. The Senators left 11 runners on base in the first six innings with a pair being stranded in five straight frames.
During the Baysox fourth annual Circus Night, Reilly walked a tight rope to pitch four and two-thirds scoreless innings.
The Baysox first got on the board, 1-0, four batters in. Wehiwa Aloy was walked on four pitches and then sped from first to home on a Thomas Sosa RBI double that took a wild ricochet in center field.

Chesapeake's 1-0 lead held when Reilly was relieved in the fifth inning. Reilly's outing was his longest scoreless appearance since pitching for the Baysox in September 2024. Reilly gave up nine hits and one walk to eight strikeouts - pitching to his former Vanderbilt teammate in catcher Dom Keegan (2-for-4).

Right-hander Jeisson Cabrera (9-2) relieved Reilly in the top of the fifth and pitched a scoreless inning and a third with three strikeouts, his 19th scoreless outing in Double-A this season.
The Baysox padded their lead with a three-run fifth. Chesapeake ripped three-straight hits to start the inning - a streak that ended with a Doug Hodo RBI double up the left field line that scored Keegan.
With a runner then on third, Aron Estrada grounded into a fielder's choice. Tavian Josenberger beat the tag on a throw home with a swim move-slide. Aloy finished the sequence with sacrifice fly to right field that scored Hodo.
As part of a 3-for-4 day, Josenberger plated an insurance run the following inning, lining a right field RBI single that scored Anderson De Los Santos to go ahead 5-0.

Josenberger's three hits tied a career-high and gave him his first professional three-hit game since playing for High-A Aberdeen in April 2024.
The Senators avoided the shutout by hitting sacrifice flies in the eighth and ninth innings. Sam Brown (4-for-4) scored on a Devin Ortiz eighth inning sacrifice to left field and, in the ninth, Caleb Lomavita hit one to cut Chesapeake's lead to the 5-2 final score.
With two outs in the top of the ninth and a runner on, Harrisburg hit a deep fly ball to left field, but Hodo stopped on the warning track and caught the dramatic final out.
Chesapeake continue their seven-game series against Harrisburg Saturday. Orioles' top prospect in right-hander Anthony Eyanson (4-0, 1.69 ERA) is set to pitch for Chesapeake and make his organization debut after being acquired Monday in a trade for three-time MLB All-Star and former Baysox catcher Adley Rutschman. First pitch Saturday is set for 6:35 pm from Prince George’s Stadium.
