Minor League Spring Training breaks this week. Triple-A players are already up in Allentown where the IronPigs open the season on Friday. Jersey Shore and Reading-bound players are coming north this weekend and the two teams will play on March 31st in Reading (tickets are just $5). Let's go through

Minor League Spring Training breaks this week. Triple-A players are already up in Allentown where the IronPigs open the season on Friday.

Jersey Shore and Reading-bound players are coming north this weekend and the two teams will play on March 31st in Reading (tickets are just $5).

Let's go through some of the games from last week.

March 18th vs Toronto

Game One

  • LF Cade Fergus had two hits and two RBIs for the Phillies prospects.
  • RHP Alex McFarlane touched 99 in a scoreless fifth inning.

Game Two

  • CF John Spikerman, who by all accounts has had a great camp, had two hits, as did SS Trent Farquhar.
  • RHP Luke Russo started and threw two scoreless innings. RHP Jake Eddington also threw two scoreless frames.
  • LHP Erik Ritchie fanned four in his two scoreless innings, while RHP Andrew Baker threw a scoreless inning with two strikeouts.

Game Three

  • SS Juan Villavicencio went 3-4 while 2B Matthew Ferrara (Toms River East) went 2-3 with a walk.
  • RHP Tanner Gresham started and threw two scoreless innings. RHP Keegan Batka also threw two scoreless innings.

Game Four

  • CF Jack Barker had two hits and drew two walks while 1B Andrew Mata had two RBIs.

March 19th vs Minnesota/Toronto

Spring Breakout Game One (vs Minnesota)

  • This was the first of two Spring Breakout games for the Phillies, which they lost to Minnesota 9-3 in Fort Myers.
  • Bryan Rincon had two hits and Dylan Campbell had two hits and a home run.
  • Jean Cabrera started and threw two scoreless innings.

Game Two (vs Toronto)

  • Will Vierling (cousin of Matt) had two hits and accounted for the game's only run on a second inning solo home run.
  • Ryan Dromboski (Northern Burlington Regional High School) threw four scoreless innings.
  • RHP MT Morrissey (NJIT) threw two.

Game Three (vs Toronto)

  • 1B Jaiden Calderon had two hits to pace the offense.
  • RHP Marty Gair threw two scoreless innings with five strikeouts.

March 20th vs the Yankees

Game One

  • CF Nathan Humphreys had a home run and two RBIs while Carson DeMartini had a hit and two RBIs.
  • RHP Gabriel Barbosa started and threw two scoreless innings with three strikeouts.

Game Two

  • LF Jack Barker had two hits including a triple.
  • RHP Alexander De Los Santos started and threw two scoreless innings with three strikeouts.
  • RHP Matthew Potok (Jackson Memorial) struck out two over his two innings of work.

March 20th vs the Yankees

Game Two (vs Detroit)

  • 2B Jose Familia went 3-4 with a double.
  • LHP Adam Seminaris went 3.2 innings without allowing a run, adding three strikeouts.
  • RHP Braydon Tucker gave up just one run in his 2.2 innings while LHP Cristhian Tortosa struck out both batters that he faced.

Game Three (vs Detroit)

  • 3B Raider Tello had three hits and C Jordan Dissin had two (both doubles).
  • RHP Aaron Combs threw a scoreless 10th inning (they played 10 to get all the pitchers work) with three strikeouts.
