RailRiders Rally Past Mud Hens

Moosic, Pa. - The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/ New York Yankees) overcame a pair of two-run deficits to topple the Toled Mud Hens 7-5 on Friday night at PNC Field. The RailRiders (31-21) honored their 2016 National champion team during pregame ceremonies and celebrated the win over the Mud Hens (23-30)

Moosic, Pa. - The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/ New York Yankees) overcame a pair of two-run deficits to topple the Toled Mud Hens 7-5 on Friday night at PNC Field. The RailRiders (31-21) honored their 2016 National champion team during pregame ceremonies and celebrated the win over the Mud Hens (23-30) afterward. SWB has won 15 of their last 20 games.
Making his second straight start against Toledo, Brady Lail (3-2) allowed five runs on six hits in 5.2 innings. He walked three and struck out one. Tyler Webb yielded his first walk of the year, snapping a string of 26 consecutive innings without issuing a base-on-balls. The left-hander bounced back to fire a scoreless 1.1 frames. Ben Heller powered through two scoreless frames with four strikeouts to notch his second save.
Trailing 5-3 in the fifth, SWB rallied against reliever Victor Alcántara (0-1). Dustin Fowler sparked the inning with a double to left off starter Aníbal Sánchez. Gleyber Torres followed with an infield single to short off Alcantara and Tyler Austin advanced the runners on a grounder. 
Fowler raced home on a wild pitch and Clint Frazier lifted a single to left that scored Torres. With the game tied 5-5, Donovan Solano mashed a double into the left field corner and Frazier hustled his way across for a 6-5 lead. Mason Williams capped the rally with a sacrifice fly to center, plating Solano.
Tyler Wade opened the scoring by launching a moonshot homer to the RailHouse beyond right field. The round-tripper was his fifth of the year. Wade finished 2-for-4 with a walk. Cito Culver finished with two hits and two RBI. He stroked his first triple of the season to right-center in the fourth.
The 2016 Gildan Triple-A National Champion RailRiders continue their series with the Toledo Mud Hens (Detroit Tigers) 6:35 p.m. on Saturday night. Right-hander Luis Cessa (2-5, 4.76) gets the starting nod against right-hander Drew VerHagen (3-3, 4.89). The first 2,500 fans through the gates will receive a Reggie Jackson bobblehead, courtesy McCarthy Tire. Kids run the bases following every Saturday home game at PNC Field, weather permitting.
