LANCASTER, Calif. - Lancaster JetHawks infielder Roberto Ramos was named California League Player of the Month for May. Ramos is one of 10 players across Minor League Baseball to earn a monthly honor.

LANCASTER, Calif. - Lancaster JetHawks infielder Roberto Ramos was named California League Player of the Month for May. Ramos is one of 10 players across Minor League Baseball to earn a monthly honor.

Ramos hit .345 and led the California League in home runs (9), RBI (23), extra-base hits (17), total bases (64) and slugging percentage (.762) in May. His 1.201 OPS ranked second in the circuit.
He started the month with home runs in four-straight games and six of seven. Ramos hit in nine-straight games to begin May, and he recorded a hit in 18 of 24 games. He had eight multi-hit games.
Going into Tuesday, Ramos leads the league in home runs (14), RBI (38), slugging percentage (.643), extra-base hits (28) and OPS (1.041). He ranks ninth in hitting (.298), fifth in on-base percentage (.398) and third in total bases (108).
This is the second California League honor for Ramos this season. He was named the league's Player of the Week for his work April 30 - May 6. Ramos is the first JetHawk to be named Player of the Month since Brendan Rodgers last May.
