LANCASTER, Calif. - The California League announced that Lancaster JetHawks infielder Roberto Ramos has been named Player of the Week for the week of April 30 to May 6. Ramos led the Cal League in virtually every offensive category over the week.

LANCASTER, Calif. - The California League announced that Lancaster JetHawks infielder Roberto Ramos has been named Player of the Week for the week of April 30 to May 6. Ramos led the Cal League in virtually every offensive category over the week.

Ramos hit .556 (15-for-27) with five home runs and 14 RBI. He posted an OPS of 1.872 and a slugging percentage of 1.259. Ramos recorded a hit in each of the seven games he played in.
On May 1, Ramos began a streak of four consecutive games with a home run. He homered in five of six games to finish off the week. He capped things off with a four-hit, five-RBI performance Sunday in a win over San Jose.
As of Monday, Ramos leads the California League in slugging percentage (.701), extra-base hits (17), total bases (68). He is tied for the league lead in home runs (9) and RBI (26). His .320 batting average ranks eighth.
Ramos made headlines earlier this season with a three-home run game versus Modesto on April 8. He became the first player in the minors to hit three home runs in a game this year.
This is the second time a JetHawk has been named California League Player of the Week in 2018. Third baseman Colton Welker was the first to win the award this season for his performance from April 5 to 15.
