San Jose, CA - San Jose Giants reliever Randy Rodriguez was acknowledged by Minor League Baseball as the Low-A West Pitcher of the Week after continuing his dominant stretch out of the bullpen in two performances against the Stockton Ports. This is the third time Rodriguez has been honored, having previously taken home Pitcher of the Week on August 23rd and Low-A Pitcher of the Month for the month of August.

Rodriguez, a hard-throwing right hander signed by the San Francisco Giants in 2017 out of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, stretched his scoreless streak to 25 innings pitched. In that stretch, Rodriguez has struck out 44 batters while walking just three. Last week, Rodriguez, accumulated 5 scoreless innings pitched while only allowing a single hit, zero runs and punching out seven in his two appearances against the visiting Stockton Ports.

The San Jose Giants embark on a six-game road trip to Fresno this week to conclude the 2021 regular season. Postseason baseball is on the horizon for the Giants, having clinched a berth in the Low-A West Championship Series back on September 10 to face the Fresno Grizzlies. In the best of five series, San Jose will host Games 3-5 starting on Friday, September 24 (Games 4 and 5 if necessary), and tickets are on sale now.
