WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY - Logan O'Hoppe broke a 6-6 tie with an RBI single in the ninth inning to give the BlueClaws a 7-6 win over Hudson Valley on Wednesday night.

WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY - Logan O'Hoppe broke a 6-6 tie with an RBI single in the ninth inning to give the BlueClaws a 7-6 win over Hudson Valley on Wednesday night.

Jersey Shore (38-47) snapped a four-game skid and has split the first two with Hudson Valley (54-32).

The BlueClaws jumped out quickly with three runs in the first inning. A run scored on a wild pitch and then Vito Friscia launched his fourth home run of the season, an opposite field two-run home run to put Jersey Shore up 3-0.

Hudson Valley inched back in the game and took the lead in the fifth on a two-run home run from Austin Wells, his first.

Jersey Shore starter Jhordany Mezquita came out after 4.1 innings, allowing four runs and walking five.

The BlueClaws, however, re-took the lead in the sixth. DJ Stewart tied the game with an RBI double. Then Herbert Iser launched a two-run home run to right field, his fifth of the year, to put Jersey Shore up 6-4.

Hudson Valley wasn't done. They tied the game in the seventh when James Nelson singled home two runs off Andrew Brown with two outs in the inning.

Tom Sutera (3-2) escaped a jam in the bottom of the eighth and earned the win after O'Hoppe's single in the ninth. Blake Brown came on and threw a scoreless ninth for his sixth save to lead the team.

Friscia and Stewart each had two hits for Jersey Shore.

The BlueClaws and Renegades continue their series on Thursday night. The BlueClaws return home on Tuesday to welcome in Asheville (Astros).
