BROOKLYN, NY - Jhailyn Oritz homered and four BlueClaws pitchers combined to hold Brooklyn to just one run in a 7-1 BlueClaws win on Sunday.

BROOKLYN, NY - Jhailyn Oritz homered and four BlueClaws pitchers combined to hold Brooklyn to just one run in a 7-1 BlueClaws win on Sunday.

The BlueClaws (29-37) earned a split of the six-game series with the Cyclones (22-42).

Trailing 1-0, the BlueClaws got a run on a wild pitch in the second inning.

Then in the third, Ortiz mashed a home run over the left-centerfield wall towards Coney Island's Cyclone rollercoaster. It was his 12th home run of the season and second of the series.

Jersey Shore starter Noah Skirrow, activated off the injured list on Saturday, gave up one run in three innings in his first start since June 11th. He added four strikeouts.

After Carlo Reyes (3-1) threw a scoreless inning, Tyler McKay came on and in his first outing off the injured list, McKay threw three scoreless innings as well. He gave up just two hits while striking out three.

Nate Fassnacht added a two-run triple in the ninth inning.

The BlueClaws head to Winston-Salem for a six-game series that begins on Tuesday night. They return home to welcome in Brooklyn for a six-game series that opens on July 27th. Tickets are on sale by clicking here.
