Redbirds Drop 5-1 Game 4 to Set Up Game 5 in PCL Finals

EL PASO, Texas - The El Paso Chihuahuas (Padres) used a five-run third inning to power a 5-1 win over the Memphis Redbirds in Game 4 of Pacific Coast League Championship Series Saturday night in El Paso, Texas, sending the series to a decisive Game 5 Sunday night.

The Redbirds have scored in just two of their last 29 innings, which was the 11th inning of Thursday's Game 2 and the sixth inning of tonight's game.
Aledmys Díaz had an RBI double to account for Memphis' scoring on the night, and Adolis Garcia was 2-for-4 and scored the only Redbird run in the ballgame. Jeremy Martinez was also 2-for-4 and now has four two-hit games in six played this postseason for Memphis.
Zac Gallen took the loss for Memphis, but fired 4.0 shutout innings surrounding the five-run third. He struck out six in the game. Josh Zeid tossed the final 3.0 innings and did not allow a hit.
Memphis was 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position and left eight runners on base. In the two games in El Paso so far, Memphis is 0-for-11 with runners in scoring position and has stranded 18 runners.
    
The decisive Game 5 of the PCL finals is tomorrow night at 7:05 (CT). The winner plays the Durham Bulls (Rays), the winner of the International League, in the winner-take-all Gilden Triple-A National Championship Game, which will be played Tuesday in Scranton, Pa.

The Redbirds are hosting a watch party for Sunday's game on the stadium's Club Level. Gates for tomorrow's game will open at 6:00, and the game will be shown on the videoboard and the Club Level televisions. Ballpark favorite concessions, including alcoholic beverages, will be available for purchase.
