MEMPHIS, TN – The Memphis Redbirds continued a 12-game road trip at the Iowa Cubs on Tuesday night with an 8-5 victory at Principal Park to start the six-game series.

Memphis scored all eight runs in the middle innings, capped off by a four-run sixth inning. In total, six Redbirds drove in at least one run and seven batters recorded at least one base hit. Third baseman Errol Robinson stayed hot, going 2-for-3 with a run scored, a walk and an RBI.

The newly named top prospect in the St. Louis Cardinals system by MLB Pipeline, shortstop Masyn Winn, recorded an RBI triple in his 1-for-4 night and scored twice. Right fielder Matt Koperniak and first baseman Taylor Motter each put together multi-hit efforts.

Dakota Hudson (4-4) tossed 5.0 innings, allowed two runs on seven hits, walked two and struck out eight batters to get back to .500 on the season. Jake Walsh (S, 3) struck out a pair of Cubs in the bottom of the ninth to close out the game.
