DES MOINES, Iowa - For the second-straight night a four-run Iowa Cubs (Cubs) inning proved to be the difference, with the division-champion Memphis Redbirds dropping their seventh game in the last 10 overall Friday night in Des Moines, Iowa, 4-2.

The Redbirds fall to 84-48 with the loss but have still won 38 of their last 55 games.
After a four-run fifth inning spurred a 5-3 Cubs win last night, Iowa scored four times in the second inning off Dakota Hudson Friday night. But other than that inning, Hudson tossed 5.0 hitless frames in his sixth Triple-A outing. Miguel Socolovich and Sean Gilmartin combined to finish the contest for the Redbirds, striking out three in 2.0 perfect frames.
Luke Voit was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI, and four Redbirds doubled in the game. Nick Martini drove in the other Memphis run of the night, which came in the ninth inning.
Breyvic Valera extended his hitting streak to eight games with a 1-for-4 showing, with one of the Redbird doubles.
Memphis and Iowa resume their series tomorrow night at 7:08 p.m. (CT). The Redbirds return to AutoZone Park Monday at 6:35 p.m. for the first of four games against the Cubs.
