After a three-game losing skid, the Reno Aces flipped the switch and won the final three games to split the series with the Tacoma Rainiers, Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. The Aces are now 3.5 games behind the Las Vegas Aviators for first place in the Pacific Coast League West Division.

The Aces earned their first win of the series Friday in a 5-1 decision anchored by standout performances from Corbin Martin and Grayson Greiner. Martin earned his fifth win of the season after the right-hander allowed just one earned run on two hits, three walks and seven strikeouts. The two hits allowed matched a season-low for Martin en route to his second quality start of the year. Greiner swung a hot bat Friday night with a 2-for-3 performance, including a two-run shot to right in the seventh inning for a 5-1 Aces lead.

Reno’s squad continued to have the momentum on their side Saturday with an 8-6 win. The game was a back-and-forth battle between both sides and reached its climax in the seventh inning. Tied at six, the Aces delivered a pair of runs highlighted by an RBI single from Seth Beer for an 8-6 lead. The relief tandem of J.B Bukauskas and Kevin Ginkel was lights out and tossed two perfect innings with five strikeouts to secure the win.

In his Triple-A debut, Major League Baseball’s No. 3 top prospect, Corbin Carroll, made a lasting first impression with a 441-foot two-run homer in Reno’s 3-2 walk-off win in 11 innings over the Rainiers. With the score tied at two apiece in the eleventh frame, Greiner called the game with an RBI single to left for the 3-2 win. Tommy Henry had a dominant start on the mound for the Aces with six innings of two-run ball on seven hits and struck out 10 batters in a no-decision.
