Bridgewater, New Jersey- The Somerset Patriots, the New York Yankees Double-A affiliate, have announced that RHP Shawn Semple has been named the Double-A Northeast League Pitcher of the Week for July 20th through July 25th by Minor League Baseball.

In his return to Double-A, Semple pitched the Patriots to a 10-0 victory over the Altoona Curve on Thursday. He allowed just two hits in six scoreless innings and struck out nine of the 21 batters he faced.
The Voorhees native becomes the fifth Patriots pitcher to earn MiLB weekly honors. Glenn Otto (two times), Janson Junk, and JP Sears have all been named previously.
