Robbie Ray Scheduled to Rehab with Visalia

VISALIA, CA- The Arizona Diamondbacks announced today that LHP Robbie Ray is scheduled to join the Visalia Rawhide for a rehab start on Thursday, August 17 at Recreation Park. Ray is rehabbing after being diagnosed with a concussion on July 28.

Robbie Ray, currently in his fourth big-league season, was traded to the Diamondbacks as part of a three-team deal with the Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees in December of 2014. Ray, who was named a National League All-Star for the first time this season, is 9-5 with a 3.11 ERA and 151 strikeouts through 118.2 innings in 20 starts. Over his career with the Arizona, Ray has won 22 games and amassed a 3.98 ERA with 488 strikeouts. On his career, Ray is 23-36 with a 4.25 ERA and 507 strikeouts.
Ray is scheduled to start as the Visalia Rawhide host the Modesto Nuts (Class A-Adv, Seattle Mariners) with first pitch scheduled for 7:00 PM. The game will mark the final game of a four-game homestand at Recreation Park as the Rawhide battle for first place in the California League Northern Division second half standings. Thursday night's game will be Visalia's annual Mustache Appreciation Night, where all fans who sport mustaches, real or fake, will receive a free pasture ticket thanks to Party City. The Rawhide will also have $1 beer specials from 6-8 PM on select drafts.
