Rockies hand Owlz 9-2 loss

OREM - The Owlz could not pick up on their momentum from last night's win, losing 9-2 to the Grand Junction Rockies on Thursday night.
Grand Junction's John Cresto homered to left field to kick off the second inning. This run gave the Rockies the 1-0 lead. Their lead went up to 2-0 when Will Golsan hit a sacrifice fly to score Joey Bartosic.

Things got worse for the Owlz in the top of the fourth. Goslan hit a home run to left center field to score Franklin Garcia and Cristopher Navarro. Orem trailed 5-0 after Goslan's homer.
Bartosic hit an RBI triple to right field in the fifth scoring Niko Decolati. Bartosic also scored in the fifth when Navarro hit a fly ball double to center field, bringing the Rockie's lead to 7-0.
Kevin Maitan smashed the ball to left field in the bottom of the sixth, giving the Owlz their first home run and run of the game.
The Rockies lead up went up to 8-1 in the final inning. Coco Montes scored with Cresto batting after Johnny Morell threw a wild pitch. Then Grant Lavigne scored after Bartosic was walked.
Daniel Ozoria scored for the Owlz in the final inning. Ozoria scored when Michael Stefanic singled on a ground ball to center field.
Orem will play Grand Junction again on Wednesday next week. The game will take place at 6:35 p.m. at the Home of the Owlz.
