The Intimidators struck first in the bottom of the first inning. Joel Booker reached on a throwing error by the second baseman and scored when Jameson Fisher brought him home on a groundout to second to give Kannapolis a 1-0 lead.
After the Jackets answered with one in the top of the second to tie the score 1-1, Kannapolis scored three to take the lead again in the bottom of the second inning. Seby Zavala walked to lead off the frame and scored on a groundball triple to right field by Rodriguez to make it 2-1. Rodriguez then came home on an infield single by Joel Booker making the score 3-1, and moments later Booker scored on a throwing error by the left fielder after a Mitch Roman single to take a 4-1 lead.
The Intimidators added two more in the bottom of the third inning to make it 6-1 when Rodriguez recorded his second triple of the night plating Zach Remillard and Zavala.
