In four seasons in the Minor Leagues, Rowdy Tellez has made a name for himself with the above-average power he can produce.
On Saturday night, the Blue Jays' No. 5 prospect continued to display his new approach for Triple-A Buffalo.
Tellez drove in four runs and contributed a double and three singles in a record-setting 17-hit effort by the Bisons in their 12-7 triumph over Charlotte at Coca Cola Field.
It was the fourth four-hit game of Tellez's career and his first in the International League.

In 42 games with Buffalo, Tellez is hitting .231 with four homers and 21 RBIs. Last season, the 6-foot-4, 220-pounder tied for fourth in the Eastern League with 23 homers for Double-A New Hampshire.

Tellez came to bat in the first inning Saturday with runners at the corners against Chris Volstad and pulled a ground ball through the right side on a 3-0 count to plate Jake Elmore with Buffalo's second run. After ripping a first-pitch single against Volstad in the third, the 2013 30th-round pick stole his second base of the year.

MLB.com's fifth-ranked first base prospect made a highlight-reel grab with one out in the fourth, tracking a Rymer Liriano popup near the first-base dugout. Tellez extended his body over the thigh-high railing, making the catch with his outstretched glove hand before tumbling into the camera well.
In the fifth, the California native stroked a run-scoring double into the right-field corner for his fourth extra-base knock in 12 games. Tellez popped out for the final out of the seventh, but was a major factor in a seven-run ninth that helped Buffalo to its first victory in 18 games when trailing after seven innings this season.

In the ninth, No. 8 White Sox prospectZack Burdi surrendered a run that tied the game, 6-6, when Elmore plated Roemon Fields after he led off with a triple. Two batters later, Tellez snapped the tie with a bases-loaded single, bringing in two runs. He later scored on a base hit by Christian Lopes.

The triple was the fourth hit for Fields, who finished a homer shy of the cycle, drove in a run and scored twice. The 26-year-old is hitting .410 in 78 at-bats since being elevated from New Hampshire on April 29.
Ian Parmley went 4-for-4 with two doubles, two singles, three runs and an RBI for Buffalo.
Yoán Moncada, MLB.com's top overall prospect, tripled, doubled and scored twice, while journeyman Cody Asche fell a triple shy of the cycle in four at-bats with an RBI and two runs scored for Charlotte.
Burdi, who faced five batters without recording an out, was charged with five runs on three hits and two walks.
