The ninth was the capper of a two-hit night for Royals pitching.
Royals RHP Sal Biasi was dominant to begin his outing, retiring the first 11 Twins he faced. Burlington provided him with run support on an unearned run in the bottom of the third. DH
Elizabethton quickly took a 2-1 lead in the top of the fourth. LF Brent Rooker and 1B
Biasi would finish his night having thrown five innings of one-hit ball, striking out two.
The Twins' second hit and next scoring opportunity came in the top of the sixth. Kendrick and Waltner each walked with two out, and CF Mark Contreras hit a sharp single up the middle to drive in Kendrick. Burlington answered back in the bottom of the inning thanks to a mis-play by Contreras in center field. Carrasco led off with a triple when Contreras lost a ball in the lights, and he would score on an RBI groundout from LF Travis Jones to make it 3-2.
Garcia kept the Twins off the board in the seventh and eighth, setting up the Royals' rally and earning his first win of the season.
Carrasco was the lone Royal with multiple hits on the night.
The Royals open a three-game road set with the Pulaski Yankees on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. RHP
