E-Train Win in Walk-Off Fashion for Second Straight Night

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Aces and Express held each other scoreless through the first nine frames on Sunday evening. Starting pitchers LHP Jordan Montgomery and RHP Jose Cabrera each tossed 5.0 innings with one walk from Montgomery.

In the top of the 10^th, RHP Gavin Collyer struck out 2 batters with a groundout to keep the Aces off the board. Round Rock 1B Diego Castillo began the bottom of the frame on second and moved to third on 2B Keyber Rodriguez’s sacrifice bunt. RF Orlando Martinez delivered the final blow with an infield single. Castillo came home for a 1-0 final in Round Rock’s second consecutive extra-inning walk-off victory.

RHP DAVID DAVALILLO: (ND, 3.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 SO, 46 pitches, 28 strikes) appeared in his 7^th game this season with Round Rock and his 1^st since 6/13 vs ELP… 1^st outing this year with the Express to come out of the bullpen… retired the side in the 6^th and 7^th inning… generated an inning-ending strikeout in the 8^th with runners at 2^nd and 3^rd to keep the shutout bid alive… was added to the roster today from Double-A Frisco… owned a 2.00 ERA (2 ER/9.0 IP) with 8 SO in his last 2 starts with the RoughRiders.

RHP GAVIN COLLYER: (W, 2.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 SO, 31 pitches, 18 strikes) earned his 3^rd win of the season, tossing the final 2.0 innings for the Express…did not allow a hit or a run, walked 1 batter and struck out 3…delivered 1^st-pitch strikes to 5 of 7 batters faced…since being optioned on 7/18, is 1-0 with a 1.93 ERA (1 ER/4.2 IP), 7 strikeouts and 1 walk.

OF ORLANDO MARTINEZ: drove in the lone run of the game with his RBI single in the 10^th inning… entered tonight’s contest with a 3-G hitless streak… marks the 5^th walk-off victory of the season… 2^nd of August in as many games.
