Mound Presence
After the three-run first inning, Mace worked perfect second through fourth innings. In the fifth, he allowed a walk and bunt single before Hassell hit an RBI double. An inning-ending double play completed Mace’s five innings, as he allowed four earned runs on eight hits with a walk and a strikeout. Left-hander Erik Sabrowski began the sixth inning and allowed Wood’s leadoff home run, House’s double and Tostado’s RBI single to make it 6-0. After a leadoff walk in the seventh, right-hander Trey Benton entered and allowed three hits, scoring two more runs, before striking out three straight hitters. Right-hander Jordan Jones worked around a walk and hit in a scoreless eighth inning.
