Ruben Ibarra Joins Dragons; Additional Moves Announced
The Dayton Dragons, in conjunction with the Cincinnati Reds, announced the following roster changes today: First baseman Ruben Ibarra has been reinstated from the injured list and is in the starting lineup tonight. First baseman Ruben Ibarra has been reinstated from the injured list and is in the starting lineup tonight.
Infielder Ilvin Fernandez has been transferred to Dayton from Double-A Chattanooga.
Outfielder Wendell Marrero has been transferred to Dayton from Single-A Daytona.
Infielder Jose Serrano and outfielder Luis Chevalier have been transferred from Dayton to extended spring training in Goodyear, Arizona.
The Dragons roster is now at the Midwest League limit of 30 players.
Ibarra was the Reds fourth round draft pick in 2021 out of San Jose State University. He finished second in the nation in slugging percentage at San Jose State in 2021 when he batted .381 with 14 home runs in just 35 games. Ibarra appeared in 25 games for the Dragons in 2022 before suffering a broken thumb that ended his season.
