Rumblers' rain rally routs Richmond, 9-2

The Flying Squirrels (29-12) lost for the fifth time in their last seven games, including twice this week in three games against the Rumble Ponies (15-27).
The score was tied, 2-2, entering the bottom of the ninth before the Rumble Ponies scored seven runs charged to Mitch White (Loss, 3-1). In a hard rain, Binghamton picked up one hit in the inning with six walks, two hit batters and an error.

The Flying Squirrels trailed the Rumble Ponies, 2-0, in the bottom of the eighth before Parks Harber drove a two-out, two-run double to tie the score against Rumble Ponies reliever Douglas Orellana (Win, 4-0).
Cesar Perdomo retired the first nine batters he faced and 16-of-the-first-17 Rumble Ponies into the sixth inning. With one out in the sixth, Binghamton put two runners on base with infield singles. After a flyout, Eli Serrano hit a two-run double to break the scoreless tie.
Perdomo finished his outing with seven strikeouts and no walks over 5.2 innings, allowing four hits.
Thursday’s In-Your-Face Fireworks presented by Chick-fil-A were postponed due to weather conditions. Fans who purchased tickets for Thursday’s game will be able to redeem them for a future 2026 regular-season Flying Squirrels game (subject to availability) at the CarMax Park ticket office or by phone at 804-359-FUNN (3866).
The series continues on Friday night. Left-hander Greg Farone will start for the Flying Squirrels opposed by Rumble Ponies right-hander Jordan Geber (1-4, 6.05). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at CarMax Park.
