Wichita, KS - 2B Thomas Saggese became just the second Springfield Cardinal in the last 12 years to hit for the cycle, leading the Springfield Cardinals (21-23, 55-58) to the 11-2 blowout win against the Wichita Wind Surge (23-21, 51-61) on Saturday night at Riverfront Stadium. Saggese's cycle is the first by a Cardinal since OF Matt Koperniak hit for it on 8/9/22 in Amarillo. Prior to that, the last cycles in team history were by Domnit Bolivar and Eric Duncan during the 2011 season.

Saggese started his night with a two-run triple in the 1st inning, before adding a single in the 5th, a solo home run in the 7th and an RBI double in the 8th to complete the cycle... He went 4x5 with four RBIs, reaching base for the 17th straight game to start his Springfield career... SS Arquimedes Gamboa also drove in four runs, going 2x4 with an RBI double in the 3rd and a three-run home run in the 5th... CF Victor Scott II went 3x5 with a double and his 78th steal of the year (28th in Double-A)... LF Mike Antico went 2x5 with his 43rd steal of the year, just three swipes shy of OF Charlie Tilson's 2015 single-season team record of 46 steals... LHP Alex Cornwell tossed 5.2 innings with just one run while striking out six.
