SAL Names Zangari Player of the Week

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - The Kannapolis Intimidators are pleased to announce that Corey Zangari has been named the South Atlantic League Player of the Week (June 10-16).
A native of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Zangari slashed .318/.400/.864 at the plate in six games and in 22 at-bats.
Extra-base hits were not hard to come by for Kannapolis' first baseman/designated hitter, as Zangari hit three doubles and three home runs. Throughout the week, Zangari captured six RBI and scored five times.
Despite being drafted as a pitcher out of high school in the sixth round of the 2015 First-Year Player Draft, Zangari has found much success at the plate over his first few seasons in the White Sox organization. On June 10 at Greenville, Zangari punished two balls over the wall for his first multi-homer game of the season.
Over the past week, Zangari has pieced together his highest hit-streak of the season at six games.
