The Bees wasted little time getting on the board. Matt Thaiss got the scoring started, doubling to right center to score Kean Wong (walk). Brendon Davis followed suit with a single to bring in Thaiss, extending the lead to 2-0.
The Rainiers chipped away in the third, as Erick Mejia came around on an error to bring Tacoma within one.

With two outs, consecutive hits from Monte Harrison (single), Magneuris Sierra (double) and Michael Stefanic (single) added four to the Bees’ tally, giving Salt Lake a five run advantage.
