San Jose, CA The San Jose Giants swept the California League weekly honors after six straight victories over the Stockton Ports. Outfielder Carter Williams was acknowledged by Minor League Baseball as the California League Player of the Week while right-handed pitcher Nick Sinacola was named Pitcher of the Week. This is the first time San Jose has swept the weekly awards in 2022, having done so twice last year during the 2021 season.

Williams, an outfielder out of North Carolina Central University signed as a free agent in 2020 by the San Francisco Giants, joined San Jose just two weeks ago and has been an integral part of the team’s current 11-game win streak. In six games last week in Stockton, Williams went 15-23 (.652 avg) with six doubles, 10 runs batted in and two home runs that included a 9th inning game-tying two-run shot on Sunday. In his 11 games with San Jose, Williams is now batting .553 with four home runs and 19 runs batted where San Jose is 11-0.

Sinacola, a right-hander drafted in the 7th Round by the San Francisco Giants in 2021 out of the University of Maine, earned his fourth win of the year back on Thursday, June 23. Coming out of the bullpen, Sinacola threw five scoreless innings, struck out five and held the Ports hitless.

The San Jose Giants return home tomorrow for six games against the Modesto Nuts, the Seattle Mariners’ Single-A Affiliate. For more information on single game tickets, ticket packages and group reservations for the season, visit sjgiants.com or call 408.297.1435.
