Simeon Lucas and Nolan Jones notched their first home runs of the 2017 season. Lucas also hit his first double of the season.
Starting pitcher Zach Plesac pitched 3 solid innings, striking out 6 and walking 1. The Scrappers bullpen got in on the action by striking out another 9 batters for a total of 15 strikeouts for the Scrappers pitching staff. Mahoning Valley improves to 6-4 on the season and are tied for first in the Pinckney Division.
The Scrappers look to take the series finale against the Black Blacks behind starting pitcher Francisco Perez.
