The Scrappers took the early lead with a run in the top of the first. With two outs
The Spikes would answer back with two runs in the bottom of the first to take the lead right back.
Mahoning Valley would tie the game right away in the top of the second inning. With one out and
State College would take advantage of a two out error in the bottom of the inning to reclaim the lead for good. The Spikes added two insurance runs in the bottom of the fourth to push the score out to the final of 5-2.
Zach Draper (1-1) started and took the loss in 4.0 innings of work. He allowed 5 runs, 4 earned, on 8 hits. Draper walked 2 and struck out 1.
The Scrappers (11-4) look to even the series with the Spikes on Monday night.
