Portland, ME- Sea Dogs first baseman Hudson Potts drove in five runs, and starting pitcher Bryan Mata hurled six scoreless innings as Portland defeated the Hartford Yard Goats 8-0 on Wednesday night at Hadlock Field in Portland, Maine. Red Sox infielder Trevor Story had a sacrifice fly and scored a run while playing against Hartford on a Major League Rehab assignment. Willie MacIver and Kyle Datres each had a pair of hits for the Yard Goats.

The Yard Goats loaded the bases in the first inning on two singles and a walk but Portland starter Bryan Mata worked out of the jam, and finished the inning with three strikeouts. He would go on to fire six scoreless innings with nine strikeouts and earn his fifth win.

The Sea Dogs scored two runs in the first inning off Hartford starter Mike Ruff. Ceddanne Rafaela cracked an RBI triple and Trevor Story contributed with a sac fly to give Portland a 2-0 lead in the first inning.

Portland added three more runs in the third inning. The Sea Dogs loaded the bases on a single and two walks and Steven Scott made it 3-0 with a sacrifice fly, scoring Rafaela. Later in the inning Hudson Potts smashed a two-run single, scoring Trevor Story and Christian Koss to make it 5-0.

The Sea Dogs added on in the fifth inning as Hudson Potts connected on a three-run home run to make it 8-0.

The Yard Goats and Sea Dogs play the third of a six game series on Thursday night at 6:00. RHP Mitch Kilkenny will start for the Yard Goats and RHP Sterling Sharp will start for Portland.
