FRISCO, Texas (September 7, 2022) – The Frisco RoughRiders, playing as the Dallas Black Giants, scored early and often in a dominating 11-0 win over the Tulsa Drillers on Wednesday night from Riders Field. Frisco scored four runs in the first and seven in the third on their way to their seventh shutout win of the second half.

The Riders (33-25, 69-58) used four pitchers to combine for the shutout win. Tim Brennan pitched 4.2 innings, allowing just two hits while striking out four before leaving with an injury in the fifth. Triston Polley (5-1) then entered and threw 2.1 innings with four strikeouts.

Joe Corbett allowed just one hit over his 1.1 innings and Nick Starr came in to retire the last two batter of the game for the Riders.

Offensively, Frisco wasted no time finding the scoreboard in the bottom of the first inning with four runs in the inning. Luisangel Acuna began the scoring with a two-run single before Kellen Strahm ripped an RBI single of his own and David Garcia plated the fourth run of the frame with an RBI groundout.

In the third, Frisco ran away with the game. Acuna knocked in his third run of the game with an RBI single to make it 5-0 and start the scoring in the inning. Strahm then doubled in Acuna prior to a Jonathan Ornelas RBI single to add on. With the bases loaded, Justin Foscue then cleared them with a three-run double and Blaine Crim added an RBI double of his own to push the lead to 11-0.

Foscue, Crim, Acuna (three hits) and Strahm all recorded multi-hit affairs while Crim extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a pair of doubles.

Tulsa (25-34, 65-61) was held to just three hits and five base runners by RoughRiders pitching.

Kyle Hurt (1-4) took the loss for the Driller, allowing four runs over his 0.2 innings in his start.

The RoughRiders continue their final home stand of the regular season with game three against the Drillers Thursday night at 6:35 p.m. Frisco LHP Cody Bradford (8-7, 5.30) starts for the Riders against RHP Landon Knack (2-8, 4.53) for Tulsa.

Thursday night is Frisco's final Los Quesos Frisco night presented by Baylor Scott & White. It is also the final Blue Norther Hard Seltzer Rowdy at the River with $2 Blue Norther Hard Seltzers and $2 domestic drafts at the Lazy River with the purchase of a Rowdy at the River ticket. In the seating bowl, $3 Miller Lites will be available through the seventh inning for Thirsty Thursday.
