After their last series against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp ended with the Tides only winning two out of the seven games, the Tides came ready for this series. They came out with a three-run lead after five innings and carried a shutout through the seventh inning. The Tides unfortunately lost 4-3 after the Jumbo Shrimp rallied four runs down in the final two innings to win.

The Tides displayed great defense to hold the Jumbo Shrimp even after they had the bases loaded at one point. Three double plays were turned in the first four innings alone for the Tides. The first double play ended the second inning. A wild pitch and a walk thrown by Mike Baumann put two baserunners on for the Jumbo Shrimp, but the Tides turned a 6-4-3 play to end the inning.

Two errors by the Jumbo Shrimp in the second inning allowed the Tides to go up two runs. Robert Neustrom singled and Zach Jarrett reached on a catcher’s interference to put two on first and second. With two on, McCoy grabbed his 15th double of the year, tying him for first on the team in doubles.
