The Flying Squirrels are kicking off the final season at The Diamond with a weekend of FUNN. Celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Diamond and the 15th season of Flying Squirrels baseball starting on Friday, April 4.
The Flying Squirrels will begin the season facing off against the Akron RubberDucks, Double-A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians. Very limited tickets remain for Opening Night, featuring Hall of Famer John Smoltz.
The first series of 2025 features two fireworks shows, an exclusive kids T-shirt giveaway and more to kick off the season.
Leave your mark on CarMax Park! Throughout Opening Weekend, fans can sign the final steel beam to be placed at the Flying Squirrels' new home. The beam will be located at front gates Friday through Sunday before being installed at the CarMax Park construction site later this month.

World Series-style lineups for both teams begin around 6:10 p.m.

The Flying Squirrels are celebrating Virginia’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities! Representatives from Virginia Union University, Virginia State University, Hampton University, Howard University and Norfolk State University will be in attendance.
Arrive early for special pre-game performances by VUU and VSU cheerleaders.
Meet special guest Brandon Crosby, graduate of Atlee High School and Norfolk State University and former Savannah Banana on the main stage during the second inning.
The Virginia Union University Choir will sing “Lift Every Voice” during the seventh inning stretch.
Stick around for In-Your-Face fireworks from up close and inside the fences following the game.
Students and faculty from any HBCU can present their college ID at any ticket booth for a $5 General Admission ticket while supplies last.
HBCU Night is presented by Xfinity-Comcast.

Members of the Squirrel Tails Kids Club presented by Atlantic Union Bank get in FREE! The Squirrel Tails Kids Club is free to join for children ages 14 and under and includes a General Admission ticket voucher to select Sunday home games. Click here to register your child.
The first 1,000 kids ages 14 and younger will go home with a Squirrel Tails Kids Club T-shirt, sizes YXS to YXL.
Bring your glove and play catch on the field from 12:45-1:05 p.m. Fans playing catch on the field can enter the field through the field gates located at sections 103/104 and 118/119.

Fans playing catch on the field can take home a unique photo baseball displaying the new Atlantic Union Bank Lounge that will be at CarMax Park, while supplies last.
Kids ages 14 and younger can run the bases following the game presented by Richmond Family Magazine. Kids can line up to run the bases outside the Squirrels Nest Team Store at the end of the first-base side of the main concourse. Parents and guardians are allowed to accompany their children onto the field and meet them as they cross home plate.
