Series Preview: Squirrels return home to face Baysox

The Flying Squirrels, sporting a roster with several of the San Francisco Giants’ top prospects, return home to The Diamond for a series against the Bowie Baysox, Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, Tuesday, April 23 through Sunday, April 28.
The six-game set will feature a full slate of promotions including two fireworks shows, a denim bucket hat giveaway, a rebranded on-field look and an exclusive T-shirt giveaway for the kids.

Tuesday, April 23 vs. Bowie Baysox: Education Day
11:05 a.m. | Gates 10:00 a.m. | Tickets
The series kicks off with an early-week matinee! Students from around the Richmond Region will call The Diamond their classroom for the day.
- Education Day is peanut free! No peanuts will be in the ballpark on this day to accommodate fans with peanut allergies.
- Mad Science of Central Virginia will educate and entertain with a series of pregame experiments.
- Education Day is presented by Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
*While reasonable efforts will be made to restrict peanut products, including performing additional cleaning in advance, we cannot guarantee the absence of peanut particles and residue. Fans with peanut allergies should take all precautions that they customarily take in public places with potential exposure.
Wednesday, April 24 vs. Bowie Baysox: Reading Night with Wine & K-9s

The Flying Squirrels recognize students throughout Central Virginia who successfully completed the Go Nuts for Reading Program presented by M&T Bank.
- Pregame Reading Night parade begins at 5:15 p.m. Students must be in line by 5:45 p.m. to participate.
- Enjoy $5 glasses of wine and $6 wine slushies from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Wine Cart located on the main concourse across from Gilbane Fan Services.
- Dogs admitted for FREE in sections 101-103, 201-203 and first base General Admission. Please request a dog-friendly section if accompanied by a pet.
Thursday, April 25 vs. Bowie Baysox: In-Your-Face-Fireworks and Little League Night

The Flying Squirrels celebrate Central Virginia’s Little League baseball and softball teams.
- Little League teams are invited to participate in a pregame parade around the warning track from 5:45-6:00 p.m.
- In-Your-Face fireworks from up close and inside the fences to follow the game.
- Little League Night is presented by Heart of Virginia Chevy Dealers.
Friday, April 26 vs. Bowie Baysox: Denim Bucket Hat Giveaway and Friday Happy Hour

Take it back to the 90’s and grab a denim bucket hat.
- The first 1,000 fans ages 15 and older will go home with a Flying Squirrels RVA denim bucket hat.
- Listen to 90’s jams with DJ Ron on the stage before the game.
- Enjoy the best Happy Hour in RVA! Sip on $2 domestic drafts from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at all lower concession stands, upper concourse beer carts and the Budweiser Thirsty Acorn. $2 Pepsi fountain sodas are also available at the Papa Johns stand on the main concourse.

The Flying Squirrels salute the mighty James River and celebrate one of Richmond’s most iconic features.
- Specialty on-field uniforms salute the James River and Richmond’s rich history. View the River City uniforms here.
- Learn about the James River Association and its mission to promote conservation and responsible stewardship of its natural resources.
- Purchase a Great Return from the Hardywood stand to support the James River Association. $1 from every beer purchased goes back to the JRA.

Welcome back to Sunday FUNN-days with the Squirrel Tails Kids Club!
- Members of the Squirrel Tails Kids Club presented by Atlantic Union Bank get in FREE! The Squirrel Tails Kids Club is free to join for children ages 14 and under and includes a General Admission ticket voucher to all Sunday home games. Click here to register.
- The first 1,000 kids ages 14 and under will go home with a RFS Jam Nutzy and Nutasha T-shirt, sizes YXS-YXL.
- Bring your glove and play catch on the field from 12:45-1:05 p.m.
- Kids ages 14 and under can run the bases following the game presented by Richmond Family Magazine. Kids can line up to run the bases outside the Squirrels Nest Team Store at the end of the first-base side of the main concourse. Parents and guardians are allowed to accompany their children onto the field and meet them as they cross home plate.
