Shane Kemp Wins 2017 Pirates Community Commitment Award

Kemp completed 29 total hours of community service in 2017, with 27 of those hours coming during his time with the Black Bears. Some of the events Kemp participated in include: visiting the WVU Children's and the VA Hospital, a Dog Wash for Pet Helpers, and helping special needs children with the Miracle League.
Kemp also received the PCCP scholarship last season while playing with the Bristol Pirates. Along with Kemp's impact, over 3,000 hours of community service hours were recorded throughout the Pirates organization during the 2016 season.
The PCCP award winners were honored on Sept. 23 at PNC Park.
