LAKEWOOD, N.J. (Aug. 17, 2017) - Chicago White Sox second round pick Gavin Sheets drove in three runs to power the Intimidators to a 7-0 win over the BlueClaws on Thursday night at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood. Kannapolis (22-31 Second Half, 61-60) recorded its fifth shutout win of the season

LAKEWOOD, N.J. (Aug. 17, 2017) - Chicago White Sox second round pick Gavin Sheets drove in three runs to power the Intimidators to a 7-0 win over the BlueClaws on Thursday night at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood. Kannapolis (22-31 Second Half, 61-60) recorded its fifth shutout win of the season as three pitchers combined for a one-hitter. 
Sheets finished 2-for-3 to lead the Intimidators offense, while Luis González, Jake Burger, and Micker Adolfo eached crossed the plate twice in the game. 
Peralta (3-3) struck out six while working around a hit and two walks to earn the win. Kevin Escorcia spun a scoreless, hitless sixth and seventh inning with a walk and two strikeouts, and Danny Dopico closed the game with 2.0 scoreless frames to cap the one-hitter. Lakewood's Mauricio Llovera (x-x) took the loss, allowing five runs on six hits over 4.0 innings. 
The Intimidators' one-hitter is the team's first since July 9, 2016, when Luis Martinez and Taylore Cherry combined to one-hit Greensboro.  
After Mitch Roman singled to drive in Adolfo for a 1-0 lead in the second inning, the Intimidators plated four runs in the third to pull away. With two on and one out, Burger singled to center field, scoring Alex Call. Adolfo followed with an RBI-double, and Sheets pounded a two-run single to right field for a 5-0 lead. Kannapolis tacked on a pair of runs in the seventh inning on back-to-back RBI-singles by Sheets and Roman. 
Kannapolis next heads to Hagerstown to open a 4-game series against the Suns on Friday at 7:05 p.m. at Municipal Stadium.
