Justus Sheffield fired 6.1 innings of one-run ball and Miguel Andújar went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles to lead the Thunder to a 6-2 win over the Reading Fightin Phils on Monday night at ARM & HAMMER Park.
Sheffield's lone run allowed was a solo home run surrendered to Reading 2B Scott Kingery; who leads the Eastern League with 14 total on the season. Sheffield struck out four and allowed just six total baserunners in 6.1 innings pitched. The left-hander used a pair of double play balls in the fourth and sixth inning to skate around any additional trouble.

The Thunder offense scored first for the 30th time in 42 games this season and improved to 23-7 in games in which they score first. Rehabbing New York Yankees Outfielder, Tyler Austin, started in right field and went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored with his single coming in the first inning. Jake Cave followed with a double to put runners on second and third, but, the Thunder could only score one run on the Andujar sacrifice fly.
Trenton's offense broke the game open in the fifth inning against John Richy with three runs in the fifth. With the bases loaded and nobody out, Austin and Cave brought in runs with groundouts and Andujar followed them with a ringing double to left to extend the lead to 4-0.
A pair of insurance runs crossed for the Thunder in the eighth inning when Rashad Crawford tripled in Andujar and Billy Fleming followed him with a single to center.
Matt Wotherspoon finished off the victory with an eight-out save for his third of the year. Thairo Estrada reached twice in the game, he's reached 66 times in 32 games played this season. Crawford and Fleming each had two-hit games as part of an 11-hit attack.
Your Thunder continue their homestand on Tuesday night at 7pm against the Fightin Phils. RHP Ronald Herrera (4-0, 1.14) will start for the Thunder, RHP Shane Watson (2-2, 5.17) will go for Reading.
