Shuckers Fall in Walk-Off Fashion to Clingstones

Columbus Completes Comeback in Ninth to Beat Biloxi

COLUMBUS, GA– The Biloxi Shuckers (55-45, 20-15) were walked off by the Columbus Clingstones (46-53, 17-18), 4-3 on Wednesday night at Synovus Park. Both squads were scoreless through the first five innings, until the Clingstones claimed the contest’s first run on a sacrifice fly by John Gil in the sixth.

COLUMBUS, GA– The Biloxi Shuckers (55-45, 20-15) were walked off by the Columbus Clingstones (46-53, 17-18), 4-3 on Wednesday night at Synovus Park.

Both squads were scoreless through the first five innings, until the Clingstones claimed the contest’s first run on a sacrifice fly by John Gil in the sixth. The Shuckers answered with a big inning in the seventh after Marco Dinges deadlocked the game with a RBI double before Jesús Made and Blake Burke slugged back-to-back run-scoring singles to give Biloxi a 3-1 lead. Columbus came back and scored three runs in the ninth after an Adam Zebrowski RBI base knock, and a game-winning 2-RBI single by Luke Waddell.

Marco Dinges (2-for-4) posted his first multi-hit performance in Double-A.

Owen Hackman was given the win, with Stiven Cruz (4-2) collecting the loss. Jaron DeBerry (5.0ip, 0r, 5k) dazzled with a scoreless start, with Ryan Birchard (1.0ip, 0r, 2k) also twirling a perfect frame out of the bullpen.

The Shuckers are back in action at Synovus Park on Thursday night. Braylon Owens (1-1, 5.40) toes the bump for Biloxi set to clash with Columbus’ Cam Caminiti in his Double-A debut. The Shuckers play game three-of-six against the Clingstones with first pitch set for 6:06 p.m. Coverage begins at 5:46 p.m. with the On-Deck Show on the Biloxi Shuckers Radio Network and The Hype 100.9.
