The Colorado Springs Sky Sox strung together a late rally for the fourth straight game, but the Omaha Storm Chasers scored a pair of runs in the bottom the eighth inning to take the series finale, 6-4, in front of 5,116 at Werner Park Thursday night.

The hosts cracked the scoreboard first with a run in the second inning, but the Sky Sox (59-36) responded during their next at-bats with a two-run third inning. Playing in his third game with Colorado Springs, Chris Colabello lined a two-run double on the first pitch from Onelki Garcia to right-centerfield, plating Ivan De Jesus and Nate Orf for the first baseman's first two RBI since joining the team July 18.
The Sky Sox found themselves down 4-2 for the second straight night in the late innings, but the visitors came from behind and tied the game with a two-run eighth inning. Nick Noonan had himself a two-hit night, driving in De Jesus and Colabello with a double to centerfield. The veteran infielder also has himself a four-game hitting streak and has recorded at least one hit in 17 of the last 20 games with Colorado Springs.
Despite the loss, the Sox were victorious in 13 of the 17 matchups between the two PCL American North Division Rivals. Colorado Springs enjoyed an 8-1 record against the Storm Chasers at Security Service Field, including a five-game sweep June 26-29 in the final series in the Rocky Mountain State.
After the quick four-game series in Nebraska, the Sky Sox return home for an eight-game homestand beginning Friday, July 21, at 7 p.m. MT. The Reno Aces, Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, come to Security Service Field for the first and only time this season for a four-game series. RHP Taylor Jungmann (5-1, 2.98) makes the start in the series opener against Reno RHP Frank Duncan (7-6, 6.23).
