Sounds' Streak Snapped in Oklahoma City

The Nashville Sounds blew a late lead and suffered a 7-3 setback to the Oklahoma City Dodgers Thursday afternoon at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The team's winning streak was snapped at four games with the loss.
The Sounds scored first and held leads of 1-0, 3-1, and 3-2 as late as the seventh inning, but the Dodgers scored the final six runs of the game.
Red-hot Zack Granite started the game with a base hit to left field and promptly took second base on left fielder Kyle Garlick's error. Two batters later, Granite came in to score the first run of the game on a double play ball.
Nashville starter Wes Benjamin issued three walks and three wild pitches in the bottom of the first inning. The Dodgers capitalized on the miscues and evened the game at 1-1.
It remained 1-1 until the top of the fourth inning when Patrick Wisdom laced a two-run homer over the wall in left field to give the Sounds a 3-1 lead.
The Dodgers got a run back in the bottom half of the fourth when Drew Jackson singled in Will Smith to make it a 3-2 game. Benjamin ended up going five innings and got a no-decision after leaving with the lead. He allowed two runs on four hits and three walks.
It was all Dodgers the rest of the way. Paulo Orlando tied the game with a solo homer off Ronald Herrera in the bottom of the seventh. The eighth was full of trouble as Oklahoma City plated four runs to run away with their first win of the series.
Herrera was charged with two runs and the loss, dropping his record to 0-3 on the season. Jeffrey Springs relieved Herrera in the eighth but allowed three more runs in the frame. Kyle Garlick's two-run double gave Oklahoma City a 5-3 lead and Will Smith's two-run homer put the game out of reach.
The series finale between the Sounds and Dodgers is scheduled for Friday night. Right-hander Richelson Peña (1-4, 7.44) starts for Nashville against right-hander Daniel Corcino (2-1, 4.34) for Oklahoma City. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
