NASHVILLE, TN. - The Nashville Sounds (2–2) took down the Charlotte Knights (3-1) with a 7-3 win in the first home game of the 2026 season at First Horizon Park. Three different Sounds connected for multi-hit games, and two recorded multi-RBI games to take down the best team in the International League East.

The runs became active in Nashville's first home game of the 2026 season as Charlotte opened the game in the top of the first inning as William Bergolla Jr. ripped a double into left field and got Charlotte on the board 1-0. The Sounds responded as major league rehabber Steward Berroa hit a one-out single into right field and set up left-fielder Tyler Black to crush his first long-bomb of the season and give the Sounds a 2-0 lead.

The Sounds continued growing their lead to 4-1 in the bottom of the third inning as Black added his second hit of the night with a single into right field. Luis Lara added a two-out single to set up Brock Wilken to earn his first hit and RBI of the season. The Knights made the game interesting again in the top of the fourth inning as back-to-back one-out singles by Dru Baker and Sam Antonacci threatened to score. Tanner Murray grounded into a force out and scored Baker as the Sounds lead was cut down to two runs, then a double steal occurred by Antonacci and Murray which plated another run for the 4-3 lead still in favor of the Sounds.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Sounds extended their lead back up to 7-3 as Lara hit a one-out single to center field, which was followed by a Wilken walk. Greg Jones continued his early dominance with the Sounds as he knocked in Lara and Wilken with a two-RBI triple, and would later score on Luke Adams' RBI sac fly into center to create some distance between Nashville and Charlotte. Logan Hendersonstarted a run of five straight scoreless innings for the Nashville bullpen to close out the night. The Sounds continue this week's six-game series against the Charlotte Knights on Wednesday, April 1 with first pitch set for 6:35 p.m. CT as RHP Carlos Rodriguez will get his first start of the year.

POSTGAME NOTES

TYLER THE RUN(S) CREATOR: Tyler Black recorded his second straight multi-RBI game in Nashville's home opener Tuesday night. Black went 2-for-3 with a homer, walk, and a pair of runs scored to go along with his two RBI. Black's first-inning, two-run homer was his first of the season and first since he hit a three-run homer in Nashville's second-to-last game of the 2025 season on September 20 on the road in Louisville. Black had back-to-back multi-RBI games just once during his 2025 campaign when he did so July 3-4 against Memphis. Black is tied for the team lead with five RBI through his first four games played and owns a three-game RBI streak after his performance Tuesday against Charlotte.

BROCK AND ROLLIN: Brewers no. 22-rated prospect Brock Wilken picked up his first Triple-A hit with a RBI single in the bottom of the third inning Tuesday night. The former Wake Forest product went 0-for-8 in his first two games played on the road in Norfolk with five strikeouts and a walk. Wilken was tied for second in the Brewers farm system with 18 homers and also set his single-season career-high with 17 doubles in 79 games played for Double-A Biloxi in 2025. Wilken finished Tuesday night 1-for-2 with a pair of walks, his first Triple-A RBI, and a run scored.

STEW ON THAT: In his first game of the season after being assigned to Nashville on Major League Rehab earlier in the day Tuesday, Steward Berroa produced a multi-hit game, going 2-for-5 with a run scored. Berroa landed on Milwaukee's injured list with a right shoulder strain on March 25 but did not play in any of Milwaukee's cactus league games, meaning Tuesday was his first real game action since last September when he ended the year with Nashville. The outfielder had just one multi-hit game over his final 22 games to end the 2025 regular season.

LUIS GETS ON: Outfielder Luis Lara was one of three Nashville players to record a multi-hit game in the Sounds home opener. Lara has a hit in three of his first four games and multi-hit performances in two of the four. The 21-year-old is hitting .313 through his first 16 ABs in Triple-A after hitting at a .257 clip and leading the Milwaukee farm system with his 32 doubles with Double-A Biloxi last season.

OH, WHAT A RELIEF: Right-hander Logan Henderson made just the second relief appearance of his professional career on Tuesday. The Brewers no. 7-rated prospect tossed3.0 IP of relief as the second man out of the Nashville bullpen and allowed just one hit with a walk and tallied five strikeouts en route to his first win of the season. Henderson ended the 2025 season tied for the Nashville team lead with 10 wins despite making his final Sounds appearance of the 2025 season on July 25. In his only other professional relief appearance, Henderson worked 4.0 IP where he allowed four hits and a run (HR) with five strikeouts.
