SOUTH BNED, IN - In conjunction with Indiana Pork, the South Bend Cubs goal of giving back to the Michiana community continues with a campaign to assist local food banks in the area. In the month of June at Smokey Joe’s BBQ Shack, located just inside Gate B at Four Winds Field, Indiana Pork will donate one pound of pork to a local food bank for every pork item sold.

Since 2009, Indiana pork farmers have donated more than 1.6 million ground pork meals to Hoosiers through their partnership with Feeding Indiana’s Hungry. Indiana Pork also follows ethical principles in the commitment known as ‘We Care’; Which enables creative advancements beyond barn doors that positively impact animals, farms, food, people, communities, and the environment.

“I’m excited for this new partnership with Indiana Pork, said South Bend Cubs Assistant General Manager for Tickets Andy Francis. "Anytime we are able to make an impact in the community outside of Four Winds Field it is a win win for everyone."

At Smokey Joe’s BBQ Shack inside Four Winds Field, Indiana Pork is always putting nutritious pork on your plate. Stop by during the next South Bend Cubs homestand, June 17-22, to contribute to the cause. On the menu, you can order BBQ Pork Nachos, Pulled Pork Sandwiches, or a Mac & Cheese Bowl piled with BBQ Pulled Pork.
