Taylor Jungmann struck out six batters in his 2017 debut, but the Nashville Sounds defeated the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, 8-3, in the completion of the suspended series opener Tuesday evening at First Tennessee Park.

The Texas native made his first appearance in a Sky Sox uniform this season after being called up from Double-A Biloxi on Monday and shut down the Sounds offense after the hosts plated five runs in the first inning Saturday night before the rain suspended action.
In 4 1/3 innings of relief, Jungmann scattered four hits and struck out six Sounds batters while allowing a single earned run. The right-hander struck out a pair of batters in the second, fourth and fifth innings, and escaped a bases-loaded jam in the fifth by fanning Jaycob Brugman after a pair of two-out walks.
The Sky Sox got on the board in the eighth inning. With two outs, Ryan Cordell drove in the first run with a bases loaded walk and then Kyle Wren came into score on a wild pitch from Tucker Healy. The Sox tacked on another run in the ninth inning, when René García grounded a RBI single to right field to score Nate Orf and trim the deficit to five runs.
The rubber game of the five-game series happens approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. RHP Paolo Espino (4-0, 3.22) aims to bounce back from his no-decision against New Orleans when he squares off with Nashville newcomer Joel Seddon.
