Colorado Springs (43-29) scored the only run one batter into the game, when Wren took a 3-1 Tom Koehler offering and launched it over the right field fence. Tristan Archer and Tom Wilhelmsen held the Cakes through the next three innings, while Rob Scahill (5) earned his fifth save of the season with a scoreless ninth.
The Sky Sox send RHP Taylor Jungmann (4-0, 1.03) to the mound, looking to clinch the four-game series against RHP William Cuevas (0-0, 0.00).
