Nate Orf extended his hitting streak to six games, but the Iowa Cubs defeated the Colorado Springs Sky Sox in game one of the Tuesday night doubleheader, 2-0, at Des Moines' Principal Park.

Nate Orf extended his hitting streak to six games, but the Iowa Cubs defeated the Colorado Springs Sky Sox in game one of the Tuesday night doubleheader, 2-0, at Des Moines' Principal Park.

Junior Guerra (1-2, 3.15 ERA) tossed another solid start for Colorado Springs (70-48), allowing a pair of runs on four hits while striking out three Iowa batters in four innings. In his four starts for the Sox this season, Guerra has allowed three earned runs or less in each appearance.
Orf recorded the lone hit for the Sky Sox offense, extending his hitting streak to six games. In his last six games-including game one Tuesday-Orf is batting .380 (9-for-24) with six runs and two RBI.
The Sox look to secure a doubleheader split in game two of the Tuesday night twinbill when RHP Paolo Espino (4-1, 4.11 ERA) makes his third start against the I-Cubs.
