The Colorado Springs Sky Sox clubbed four home runs en route to a 6-3 series-opening win over the Oklahoma City Dodgers in front of 4,679 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark Thursday night.

The Colorado Springs Sky Sox clubbed four home runs en route to a 6-3 series-opening win over the Oklahoma City Dodgers in front of 4,679 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark Thursday night.

The Sky Sox (30-20) reached the 30-win mark, thanks to a barrage of long balls after the team went without a home run since the doubleheader in Nashville May 28. The Sky Sox have hit 44 home runs this season, 22 both at home and on the road.
Lewis Brinson led the offense for the Sox, recording a three-hit game with a pair of solo home runs. The center fielder has now hit long balls in two of the last three games against the Dodgers. Brinson led off the game with his fifth home run of the season and first since May 3 in Oklahoma City off MLB rehabber Brock Stewart. Brinson gave the Sox their second lead of the game in the fifth inning, hitting his second home run of the game and second to right-center field, this one off former Sox pitcher Jair Jurrjens.

After Oklahoma City (27-23) tied the game twice in the fourth and fifth innings, the bullpens squared off in a pitcher's duel until the top of the eighth inning. With two outs, Brett Phillips launched his team-leading 11th home run of the season and third of the game to right-center, scoring Ryan Cordell and putting the visitors ahead for good. Yadiel Rivera added some insurance in the ninth inning, hitting a lead off shot to left field for his third homer of 2017.
Brent Suter took a no-decision, but allowed three earned runs and struck out six Dodgers to keep the Sox in striking distance. Tyler Cravy (4-1, 3.52) took the win, striking out two batters in two innings, while Wei-Chung Wang and David Goforth (2) threw scoreless innings each to secure the fourth win in five games against the second-place Dodgers.
Colorado Springs aims to continue the momentum Friday night, when Michael Blazek (0-0, 2.33) takes the mound against Oklahoma City's Wilmer Font (3-3, 4.42). First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. MT
